Home care includes any professional support services that allow a person to live safely in their home. In-home care services can help someone who is aging and needs assistance to live independently; is managing chronic health issues; is recovering from a medical setback; or has special needs or a disability. Professional caregivers such as home care aides provide short-term or long-term care in the home, depending on a person's needs.

How to pay for home care services?

Homemaker and companionship services are usually paid directly by the person receiving care (private pay), or through long-term care insurance or Medicaid. Other funding sources may be:


  • Private pay

  • Long-term care insurance

  • Health insurance

What are examples of care services?


  • Assistance with meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, errands, medication reminders, and escorting to appointments

  • Companionship and engaging in hobbies and activities

  • Supervision for someone with dementia or Alzheimer's disease

How much does home care cost?

When you call us, we can provide you with the hourly rates for our services, and help you find out if the services you need are covered by insurance or another benefit. We can contact Medicaid, the VA, or your insurance provider(s) on your behalf to find out exactly what your policy or benefits include.
